My sister and I share an apartment together and we think it is a great little place. The only problem is that it is sealed so tightly that moisture quickly accumulates. The place this condensation is most acute is our bathroom. The steam from hot showers combined with poor ventilation makes mildew a constant threat… Fortunately, if we stay on top of it we can make sure that mold and mildew can’t take over.

For those of you who also experience problems of mold and/or mildew in your bathroom, I have provided some healthy tips to assist you in keeping the grime away. Now you can feel better knowing that this unhealthy and embarrassing problem is contained!

What To Look For

  • Moist and/or humid environments (usually 77 – 88 degrees F/20 – 30 degrees C) making mold or mildew growth more likely.
  • Spreading discoloration along the shower curtain, walls, crevices or grout.
  • Musty odors
